In high school softball yesterday…
• Hancock swept its doubleheader against L’Anse, 20-4 and 21-11. Kaydence Kilpela was the winning pitcher in both games. Emilie Pierner and Emilie Scholie homered for the Bulldogs.
• Houghton swept Lake Linden-Hubbell, 11-1 and 17-12.
On the softball schedule today…
• Houghton travels to Gwinn.

The Detroit Pistons host the Dallas Mavericks this evening.
MLB
The Detroit Tigers and the Chicago White Sox were rained out last night. The game will be made up as part of a straight doubleheader this evening. Casey Mize will pitch against Carlos Rodón in the opener. Matthew Boyd will start against Dylan Cease in the nightcap. Coverage will begin at 4:50 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Milwaukee Brewers lost to the Miami Marlins 6-2 yesterday. Zack Godley started the game for Milwaukee, and gave up four runs over three innings. He left the game when he was hit on his right index finger while bunting. Eric Yardley replaced him, and allowed two runs over two innings. Kolton Wong homered.
The Brewers host the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight. Eric Lauer will start against Trevor Bauer. Lauer was added to the roster late yesterday, after Godley was placed on the 10-day injured list.
NFL
The National Football League draft begins tonight, with round one. Barring trades, the Detroit Lions have the seventh pick, and the Green Bay Packers have the 29th selection.
Rounds two and three will take place tomorrow night, with rounds four through seven scheduled for Saturday. This year’s draft is being held in Cleveland.
The Lions locked in center Frank Ragnow for the upcoming season yesterday, by exercising the fifth-year option on his contract. Ragnow made his first Pro Bowl last season.
