Twilight League

In Copper Country Twilight Baseball League play this evening…
• Craig Heinonen Coldwell Banker and Houghton Building Supply-Stanton play a doubleheader beginning at 6 at the Stanton field.
• REL-Mohawk Technology faces Garnet Garage at 6:30 at the Wolverine field.

MLB

The Tigers had yesterday off, and open a series at Seattle tonight. Keider Montero will start against Luis Castillo. Coverage will begin at 9:15 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Brewers also had yesterday off, and begin a series at Atlanta this evening. Colin Rea will start against Bryce Elder.

Horseshoes

On the opening night of the Copper Country Horseshoe League tournament…
• Harter’s Party Store defeated Bucko’s Party Store 8-1.
• Calumet Electronics downed Luigi’s Bar 6-3.
• Calumet One got past Eva’s Hideaway 5-4.
• Dreamland One stopped Houghton Building Supply 6-3.

In round two next Monday…
• Harter’s Party Store plays Calumet Electronics at the Calumet Dam.
• Calumet One faces Dreamland One at the Dreamland Bar.
• Bucko’s Party Store takes on Luigi’s Bar at Agassiz Park.
• Eva’s Hideaway plays Houghton Building Supply at Eva’s Hideaway. 

The final four seeds began their own playoff last evening…
• Mohawk Superette defeated L and L 8-1.
• Maple Leaf beat Ahmeek Fire Department 6-3.

That tourney will conclude next Monday…
• Mohawk Superette will play Maple Leaf in the title match at Fulton Park.
• L and L and Ahmeek Fire Department will meet in the consolation game at Ahmeek Park.

Running

The annual Bootjack Fun Run and Walk takes place Saturday, with events beginning and ending at the Bootjack Restaurant.
