Keston Hiura’s two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth brought the Brewers a 7-5 comeback win over the Pirates last evening. Milwaukee trailed by two in the eighth when Garrett Mitchell’s two-run shot tied the score. It was his first major league home run. Corbin Burnes turned in four scoreless innings, but gave up four runs in the fifth, and another in the sixth.

The Brewers host the Pirates again tonight. Jason Alexander will start against Mitch Keller.

After a miserable performance in Sunday’s final preseason game, the Lions have cut backup quarterback Tim Boyle. David Blough remains on the roster, but has also been unimpressive. Detroit also cut linebacker Jarrad Davis, who was their first-round pick in the 2017 draft, and released receiver Tom Kennedy. The deadline to trim NFL rosters to 53 players is today.
