Hancock advanced to the semifinals of the state hockey tournament with a 5-1 victory over Big Rapids last night. Colton Salani gave the Bulldogs an early lead. The Cardinals tied it on a shot that bounced off goalie Dawson Kero’s skate early in the second period, but Alex Nordstrom put Hancock on top for good late in the frame. Teddy and Bryce Randell scored in the third period, and Salani added his second score of the night, to put the game away. The Bulldogs outshot Big Rapids 34-14. Hancock will face Detroit Country Day in the semifinals tomorrow at Plymouth. Pregame coverage will begin at 1:05 on KBear 102.3 and KBear102.com.
