High School

In high school hockey last night…
• Hancock defeated Calumet 4-2. Bryce Hanner scored twice for the Bulldogs, and Sam Roberts and Bennett Sturos each found the net once. Dan Wroblewski had to make just eight saves to earn the win in net.

In boys high school basketball last night…
• Houghton outscored Ishpeming 67-64.
• Calumet overwhelmed Ontonagon 51-23. Tyler Black and Brayden Nelson each scored 12 for the Copper Kings.
• Republic-Michigamme shaded Dollar Bay-Tamarack City 51-50.
• Lake Linden-Hubbell edged Baraga 58-57. Gabe Popko had 17 for the Lakes, and Daniel Nieskes scored 22 for the Vikings.
• L’Anse v Bessemer – postponed, no make-up date announced.

In girls action…
• Ewen-Trout Creek got past Hurley 60-56.
• Lake Linden-Hubbell upended Baraga 53-31. Cleo Milkey and Emily Jokela each had 21 for the Lakes.

On the boys schedule tonight…
• Calumet plays at West Iron County in a make-up game from January 11th.

On the girls schedule…
