– Houghton edged West Iron County 3-2.
– Calumet blanked Hancock 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-21).
– At a triangular, Lake Linden-Hubbell defeated Watersmeet 2-0, then fall to Ironwood 2-1.
– Dollar Bay-Tamarack City v Bessemer – no report.
– Jeffers swept Chassell 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-18). Lilly Turner had five kills for the Jets, and Brenna Hill had five aces.
– Baraga v Ontonagon – no report.
NBA
Blake Griffin scored 50 points as the Detroit Pistons pulled out a 133-132 overtime victory over the Philadelphia 76ers last night. Griffin drew a foul while sinking a layup with two seconds remaining in the extra period to tie the game. He sank the free throw to win it. The Pistons host the Cleveland Cavaliers tomorrow night.

The Detroit Red Wings will host the Winnipeg Jets on Friday. Pregame coverage begins at 7:10 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Boston Red Sox doubled up the Los Angeles Dodgers 8-4 to win the opening game of the World Series last night. Game two will be played tonight in Boston.
