MLB
The Kansas City Royals scored five runs off Francisco Rodriguez in the ninth inning, and defeated the Detroit Tigers 7-4 Saturday. Detroit starter Daniel Norris left in the sixth inning after throwing his 100th pitch, but limited the Royals to two runs, and struck out six.

The Tigers entertain the Royals again this afternoon. Matt Boyd will start against Edinson Volquez. Hear the first pitch at 1:10 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

The Indians also lost, but Detroit’s loss means that any combination of two more Cleveland victories or Detroit losses clinches the American League Central Division title for the Indians. Baltimore won, so Detroit trails the Orioles by a half-game in the race for the second American League wild card playoff berth.

The Milwaukee Brewers fell to the Cincinnati Reds 6-1 Saturday. Domingo Santana’s home run provided Milwaukee’s only score.

The Brewers play their final home game of the season against the Reds this afternoon. Wily Peralta will pitch against Brandon Finnegan.
