MLB – Tigers Blank Bucs
Shane Greene pitched eight shutout innings, as the Detroit Tigers blanked the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-0 last night. Greene gave up just three hits before being lifted for a pinch-hitter in the ninth inning. Joakim Sora pitched a perfect ninth for the save. Rajai Davis singled in the game-winning run in the seventh inning, and Ian Kinsler added an insurance tally in the ninth.

The Tigers wrap up that series at Pittsburgh tonight. Alfredo Simon will start against Francisco Liriano. Hear the first pitch at 7:05 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.

Detroit pitcher Justin Verlander is scheduled to throw a simulated game today. Verlander has been on the disabled list with a strained triceps muscle. Manager Brad Ausmus says he hopes to Verlander can toss around 60 pitches.

The Milwaukee Brewers had yesterday off, and play at Saint Louis again this evening. Wily Peralta will start against Lance Lynn.

Finlandia Baseball Falls Twice
The Finlandia baseball team lost twice to Cleary University yesterday afternoon, 8-4 and 6-4. The Lions will play two at Kalamazoo College this afternoon.
