The Finlandia University baseball team has signed up another recruit. Hunter Futrell is a pitcher and utility infielder from Leander, Texas.

The Green Bay Packers have signed guard Jon Runyan. He was a sixth-round draft pick out of the University of Michigan.

• Dreamland Two will face L and L at the Dreamland Bar.
• Drift Inn will meet Loading Zone at the Drift Inn.
• Rocky’s will play Harter’s Party Store at Rocky’s Bar.
• Ahmeek Fire Department will take on Bucko’s Party Store at Ahmeek Park.
• Calumet Electronics will face 41 Lumber at the Calumet Dam.
• Calumet One and Dreamland One will meet at Agassiz Park.
Great Deer Chase
Organizers of the Aspirus Great Deer Chase say they plan to hold the annual event as scheduled on August 15th. Registration for the 30, 15 and 10-mile adult races, and for the 4-mile children’s race, is underway. Register here.
Directors are also looking for businesses to help sponsor the event. If you sign up by Thursday, your credit will be included in all of the event’s printed literature. Payment will not be due until the end of July. For more about sponsorship, click here.
