Gervais, Kuoppala Named All-GLIAC

Michigan Tech defensive back Brett Gervais from Lake Linden and linebacker Paul Kuoppala from Iron Mountain were named to the All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference Football First Team today. The Huskies placed four players on the second team – tight end Alex Sherbinow, offensive lineman Frank Vruwink, and defensive linemen Tanner Agen and Evan Mayer. Honorable mention votes went to wide receivers Andrew Clark and Dave Walter, quarterback Brandon Cowie, defensive lineman Brandon Hutchison, linebacker Ben Tauchen, and punter Ryan Van Goethem.

Offensive lineman Cody Dingeldey from L’Anse also earned honorable mention votes – he’s a senior at Ferris State. His teammate, record-setting quarterback Jason Vander Laan, was named the GLIAC Player of the Year.
