MLB
Rookie pitcher Michael Fulmer led the Detroit Tigers to a 4-1 victory over the Oakland Athletics Friday night. Fulmer gave up just one hit through the first seven innings. He left the game after surrendering two hits in the eighth. Oakland’s only run came off Francisco Rodriguez in the ninth inning. Nick Castellanos belted his 10th home run of the season to lead the offense.

The Tigers have won nine of their last 11 games, and continue that series at Oakland this afternoon. This would be Jordan Zimmermann’s turn in the rotation, but he’s sidelined with a groin strain. Matt Boyd is expected to be called up from Toledo to fill in. Jesse Hahn will pitch for the Athletics. Hear the first pitch at 4:05 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

Aaron Hill homered twice, as the Milwaukee Brewers overcame an early deficit to defeat the Cincinnati Reds 9-5 Friday night. Jonathan Lucroy also homered, and drove in three runs. Zach Davies gave up three runs in the top of the first inning. He continued into the sixth, and was charged with all five Cincinnati runs.

The Brewers host the Reds again this afternoon. Chase Anderson will pitch against Alfredo Simon.

The Cleveland Cavaliers moved into the NBA championship series with a 113-87 victory over the Toronto Raptors Friday night. The Cavaliers won the Eastern Conference final four games to two. The Western Conference final continues tonight, as the Warriors face the Thunder. Oklahoma City leads that set three games to two.
