High School

In boys quarterfinal basketball games involving Upper Peninsula teams last night…
• In Division Four, Forest Park’s tournament run ended with a 68-51 loss to Saint Ignace. The Saints will face Wyoming Tri-Unity in the semifinals Thursday. Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart and Allen Park Inter-City will play in the other semifinal.
• In Division Three, Menominee lost a 51-49 heartbreaker to McBain.
• In Division Two, Kingsford fell to Flint Powers Catholic 81-77.

In girls regional finals involving Upper Peninsula teams tonight…
• In Division Four, Region 25, Ewen Trout Creek will play Ishpeming. That game has been moved, and will begin at 7:00 at Baraga High School.
• In Division Four, Region 26, Munising and Saint Ignace will meet at 7:00 at Newberry High School.
• In Division Three, West Iron County will face Elk Rapids. That game has also been moved, and will begin at 5:30 at Newberry High School. Streamed coverage is available through WIKB 99.1.
• In Division Two, Negaunee and Ludington will play at Petoskey High School.

NHL

The Red Wings’ losing streak reached six games last night, with an ugly 7-3 loss to the Sabres. Alex Lyon gave up four goals on 13 shots before being pulled for the second time in his last five starts. James Reimer allowed three goals on 26 shots in relief.

After a winless road trip, the Wings welcome the Coyotes tomorrow. Coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

NBA

The Pistons host the Raptors tonight, with coverage at 6:35 on 99.3 The Lift.

MLB Spring Training

The Tigers eked out a 1-0 win over the Twins yesterday. Javier Báez drove in the game’s only run with a soft sacrifice fly. Kenta Maeda gave up just one hit over four innings, and struck out seven. Alex Faedo, Beau Brieske and Jackson Jobe allowed no hits over the final five innings. In his spring debut for the Tigers, Jobe hit 102 miles per hour on the radar gun, and struck out two of the three batters he faced.

The Tigers will play the Phillies today. Jack Flaherty will start.

The Brewers fell 6-5 to the Cubs yesterday. Starter Colin Rea tossed four scoreless innings, and struck out seven. Abner Uribe relieved him in the fifth, got just one out, and was charged with four runs.

The Brewers will face the White Sox today. Bryse Wilson will start.

NFL

The Vikings have reached a one-year agreement with quarterback Sam Darnold. Darnold will become the frontrunner for the starting spot vacated by Kirk Cousins, who has agreed to a big contract with the Falcons.
