FinnU Women’s Hockey Snaps Losing Skid – Monday Sports Wrap

College Hockey

The Finlandia University women’s hockey team snapped their 40-game losing streak by skating to a 1-1 tie with Northland College yesterday. Breanna Bisek scored for the Lions. Laney Pasemko made 28 saves.  

College Basketball

The Michigan Tech men’s basketball team outscored Saint Cloud State 90-76 yesterday. Owen White scored 25 points, and Trent Bell had 19 points and 13 rebounds.

The Finlandia women’s team closed its own Thanksgiving Classic yesterday with a lopsided 80-38 victory over Northland College. Mariah Austin paced the Lions with 19 points. In yesterday’s other contest, Wisconsin-Platteville defeated Marian 79-62. Bailey Froberg from the Lions was named to the all-tournament team.

The Finlandia men’s team dropped an 81-73 decision to Beloit yesterday. B.J. Williams led the Lions with 17 points, and Rae’quan Funches added 15. 

NHL

The Detroit Red Wings visit the Boston Bruins tomorrow. Coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift. 

NBA

The Detroit Pistons lost their sixth straight game last night, 110-106 to the Los Angeles Lakers. Jerami Grant scored 32 for Detroit.

The Pistons visit the Portland Trail Blazers tomorrow.

NFL

The Green Bay Packers built an early lead, and held off the Los Angeles Rams 36-28 yesterday. Aaron Rodgers threw two touchdown passes, and ran for one score. Mason Crosby kicked three field goals, and Rasul Douglas returned a Matthew Stafford interception 33 yards for a touchdown.

In last night’s contest, the Baltimore Ravens got past the Cleveland Browns 16-10. 

Tonight, the Seattle Seahawks visit the Washington Football Team. Hear the broadcast on 99.3 The Lift.

MLB

Former Milwaukee Brewers and Detroit Tigers outfielder Avisaíl García has signed a four-year, $53 million deal with the Miami Marlins. García led the Crew with 29 home runs last season.
