Finlandia
The Finlandia University women’s hockey team lost 10-0 to fifth-ranked Adrian College yesterday. Annah Smiddy made 61-saves, following her 68-save effort in Saturday’s loss. In the two games, the Lions were outshot 145-21.

NHL
The Vancouver Canucks scored two third-period goals, and edged Detroit Red Wings 3-2 yesterday. Frans Nielsen and Thomas Vanek scored for Detroit. Jonathan Bernier made 28 saves. The Wings visit the Edmonton Oilers tomorrow night. Pregame coverage begins at 8:40 on 99.3 The Lift.

NBA
The Detroit Pistons visit the Washington Capitals for a Martin Luther King Jr. Day matinee today. Pregame coverage begins at 1:35 on 99.3 The Lift.

NFL
The New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams will meet in the Super Bowl after overtime victories in the conference championships yesterday. The Patriots forced extra time with a field goal in the closing seconds of the fourth quarter, then drove 75 yards for a touchdown to take a 37-31 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The Saints also forced overtime with a late field goal, but the Rams intercepted a Drew Brees pass in overtime, and kicked a 57-yarder to win the game 26-23.
