College Hockey

College Basketball
The Finlandia University women’s basketball team won its second straight game last night, defeating Bay College 69-50. The contest was close early, but the Lions broke it open by holding the Norse to just seven points in the second quarter. Katie Lundeen led the Lions with 17 points, and Mariah Austin added 12.
The Finlandia men’s game at Wisconsin Superior last night was called off because of COVID-19 protocols.
NHL
The Detroit Red Wings skate at Nashville tonight. Because of Finlandia hockey on 99.3 The Lift, Wings coverage begins at 7:45 on KBear 102.3.
NBA
The Detroit Pistons host the Indiana Pacers this evening.
The Pistons will be without center Jahlil Okafor for the next six to eight weeks. Okafor had missed the past four games with knee soreness. Yesterday, he underwent arthroscopic surgery to clean the knee out.
MLB
The Detroit Tigers have signed Renato Núñez to a minor league contract. Núñez has power – he hit 31 home runs for the Baltimore Orioles in 2019 – but struggles with batting average and fielding. He’ll compete for playing time at first base and designated hitter.
