Finlandia University

The Finlandia University women’s hockey team fell 1-0 to Concordia-Wisconsin yesterday.

The Finlandia softball team earned a split in its two games at the Dome Classic in Marquette yesterday. The Lions defeated Northland College 11-9. Denia Bent had four hits, scored three runs, and drove in three runs. FinnU then lost to Wisconsin-Superior 9-1.

GLHL

The Portage Lake Pioneers blanked the De Pere Deacons 8-0 yesterday afternoon. Aaron Sturos and Charlie Turner each scored twice.

NHL

The Detroit Red Wings lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-1 yesterday afternoon. Valterri Filppula scored Detroit’s only goal. Jimmy Howard gave up four goals, and was replaced midway through the second period by Jonathan Bernier.

The Wings host the Montreal Canadiens tomorrow. Coverage begins at 7:10 on 99.3 The Lift.

NBA

The Detroit Pistons return to action Thursday, when they host the Milwaukee Bucks. Coverage begins at 6:35 on 99.3 The Lift.
