FinnU Baseball Routed at Stevens Point – Monday Sports Wrap

College Baseball

The Finlandia University baseball team lost two games at Wisconsin-Stevens Point yesterday, 17-0 and 22-1

The Lions play two more at Stevens Point this afternoon.

NHL

The Detroit Red Wings’ losing streak reached six games yesterday, with their second consecutive 5-2 loss to the Ottawa Senators. Michael Rasmussen and Dylan Larkin scored for Detroit. Thomas Greiss made 31 saves.

The Wings host the Boston Bruins tomorrow. Coverage will begin at 7:15 on 99.3 The Lift.

NBA

The Detroit Pistons won their third straight game, edging the Indiana Pacers 121-117 yesterday. Every available Piston scored at least five points, and seven reached double figures, led by Saddiq Bey with 31. Cade Cunningham missed the game because of an injury.

The Pistons entertain the Dallas Mavericks Wednesday. 

MLB

The Detroit Tigers’ late comeback fell short, as they lost to the Philadelphia Phillies 8-7 yesterday. Casey Mize pitched into the fifth inning, and gave up three runs on seven hits. Spencer Torkelson hit his first home run of the spring. Akil Baddoo, Victor Reyes and Gage Workman also went deep.

The Tigers face the Toronto Blue Jays this afternoon. Tarik Skubal will start. Coverage will begin at 1:00 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Milwaukee Brewers fell to the Texas Rangers 13-2 yesterday. Brandon Woodruff surrendered three runs over the first five innings, then left as Texas scored eight times against him and Aaron Ashby in the sixth.

The Brewers play the Colorado Rockies tonight. Freddy Peralta will start.
