Alex Freeman scored his 18th goal of the season, as the Finlandia University men’s soccer team edged Northland College 1-0 yesterday. The Lions improved to 9-2 on the season. The Finlandia women’s team lost to Northland 4-1. Liliana Lazo scored for the Lions, who fell to 1-9 for the season.

The Chicago Cubs advanced to the National League Championship Series yesterday by beating the Saint Louis Cardinals 6-4. The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Mets 3-1 to tie that Divisional series at two wins per team. Game five will be played tomorrow night.

Both American League Divisional series are tied at two wins per team. Both will be decided today, as the Texas Rangers take on the Toronto Blue jays this afternoon, and the Houston Astros face the Kansas City Royals tonight.
