Alex Freeman scored his 18th goal of the season, as the Finlandia University men’s soccer team edged Northland College 1-0 yesterday. The Lions improved to 9-2 on the season. The Finlandia women’s team lost to Northland 4-1. Liliana Lazo scored for the Lions, who fell to 1-9 for the season.

Henrik Zetterberg had a goal and an assist, as the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-1 last night. Jimmy Howard made 20 saves. The Wings will host the Hurricanes Friday night. Faceoff is at 7:30 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.

The Detroit Pistons lost an exhibition match to the Pacers 101-97 last night. Andre Drummond had 17 points and 21 rebounds. The Pistons continue their preseason schedule tonight at Chicago.
MLB
The Chicago Cubs advanced to the National League Championship Series yesterday by beating the Saint Louis Cardinals 6-4. The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Mets 3-1 to tie that Divisional series at two wins per team. Game five will be played tomorrow night.
Both American League Divisional series are tied at two wins per team. Both will be decided today, as the Texas Rangers take on the Toronto Blue jays this afternoon, and the Houston Astros face the Kansas City Royals tonight.
