Michigan Tech guard Ben Stelzer has earned GLIAC North Division Player of the Week for a second time this season. Stelzer averaged 26.0 points in helping the Huskies to a pair of home wins last week. He leads the nation in three-point field goals per game.

The Finlandia men’s basketball team lost to Rochester College 71-49 at the Madonna University Crusader Classic in Livonia yesterday afternoon. Brandon Robinson led the Lions with 14 points.

The Finlandia women’s team plays at Lake Superior State this afternoon.

NHL – Red Wings Prepare for Islanders
The Red Wings host the Islanders tomorrow night. Faceoff is at 7:30 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.

NBA – Pistons Lose to Mavericks
The Pistons lost to the Mavericks 117-106 last night. Dallas turned a two-point halftime lead into a 10-point advantage at the end of the third quarter. Andre Drummond scored 19 for Detroit, and grabbed 24 rebounds. It was Detroit’s 11th-straight home loss – a franchise record. The Pistons host the Raptors tomorrow night.

ESPN is reporting that the Bears will bench quarterback Jay Cutler, and start backup Jimmy Clausen against the Lions on Sunday. Cutler has been heavily criticised in Chicago, where he’s thrown 18 interceptions this season. Clausen hasn’t started an NFL game since his rookie season with the Panthers in 2010.

Detroit will finish the season without tackle LaAdrian Waddle. He was placed on the Injured Reserve list yesterday, after suffering a knee injury during Sunday’s game.
