Finlandia LionsFinlandia Basketball to Schedule with UMAC
The Finlandia University men’s and women’s basketball teams will be added to the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference conference schedule for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. The agreement between Finlandia and the UMAC came about because of the odd number of teams in the UMAC with their recent addition of the University of Wisconsin-Superior. It should result in a much more balanced schedule between home and away games for the Lions. Finlandia is hoping to make a formal application for membership in the UMAC for all of its athletic teams. To that end, the University is adding seven new sports programs over the next seven years, including football in the fall of 2015.
