MLB

The MLB All Star game will be played tonight in Seattle. Michael Lorenzen will represent the Tigers on the American League team. Devin Williams was the initial Brewer named to the National League team, although he will not pitch, because of a recent heavy workload. He’s been replaced by Phillies reliever Craig Kimbrel. Corbin Burnes has been added to the roster as a replacement, filling in for Spencer Strider of the Braves, who pitched Saturday.

At the Home Run Derby last night, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. won the title, outslugging Randy Arozarena 25-23 in the finals. He becomes part of the first father-son duo to win the Derby – his Hall of Fame father took the crown in 2007.

On the second day of the MLB draft, the Tigers selected high school pitcher Paul Wilson in the third round. He’s the son of former major league pitcher Trevor Wilson. They took high school infielder Carson Rucker in round four. He’s a shortstop, but will likely switch to third base. Learn about all of yesterday’s picks here.

The Brewers used their third round pick on high school shortstop Eric Bitonti, then grabbed Florida Gulf Coast University pitcher Jason Woodward in the fourth round. See all of yesterday’s selections here.

The remaining 10 rounds of the draft will take place today.
