MLB

The Tigers’ comeback fell short last night, in a 6-5 loss to the Marlins. Miami scored four early runs off Reese Olson, who hung in through the sixth inning. Detroit fought back, and Nick Maton’s two-run double in the top of the eighth tied the game. The Marlins scored twice off Jason Foley in the bottom of the eighth to reclaim the lead. Andy Ibáñez singled home Spencer Torkelson in the top of the ninth to narrow the gap, but Eric Haase and Javier Báez struck out to end the game.

The Tigers continue that series at Miami today. Beau Brieske will pitch against Johnny Cueto. Coverage will begin at 3:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Brewers fell to the Braves 10-7 last evening. Adrian Houser struggled through four innings, and gave up six runs. Abraham Toro had three his, including a home run, and Sal Frelick continued his hot major league start with two hits and three runs scored.

The Brewers play at Atlanta again tonight. Julio Teheran will start against Bryce Elder.

Reliever Justin Wilson’s comeback has been put on hold. Wilson had completed his recovery from Tommy John surgery, and was warming up in the Milwaukee bullpen to enter last night’s game when he experienced a muscle problem on his left side. He’ll be put back on the injured list, and evaluated today.
