The Detroit Tigers lost to the Chicago White Sox 4-1 yesterday. Chicago starter Carlos Rodón’s no-hit the Tigers for six innings. Eric Haase’s double broke up the bid in the seventh, but that was the only hit Detroit got. A wild pitch advanced him to third base, and he scored on a sacrifice fly. On a bullpen day for Detroit, all of Chicago’s runs came in the middle innings off Tyler Alexander and Buck Farmer.

Farmer was brought up from Toledo to replace Beau Burrows, who was sent down after Saturday’s contest. Jonathan Schoop missed yesterday’s game with a sore hand. He was hit by a pitch Saturday, and is considered day-to-day.

Two of Detroit’s top prospects have earned promotions. Infielder Spencer Torkelson and catcher Dillon Dingler will advance from High-A Grand Rapids to Double-A Erie. Over six weeks with the Whitecaps, Torkelson hit .312 with 11 doubles, and five home runs. Dingler hit .287, with six doubles and eight home runs.

The Milwaukee Brewers were outhit by the Pittsburgh Pirates 10-5 yesterday, but still won the game 5-2. Avisaíl García hit his 13th home run of the season.
