NFL
In yesterday’s NFL games, the Pittsburgh Steelers routed the Houston Texans 34-6, and the Philadelphia Eagles scored nine points in the final 22 seconds to defeat the Oakland Raiders 19-10. Jake Elliott’s 48-yard field goal snapped the tie, and Derek Barnett’s 23-yard fumble return for a touchdown on the game’s final play sealed the win. The victory earned the top NFL playoff seed for the Eagles.

Luminaria Ski
You can enjoy some beautiful candle-lit cross country skiing tonight at the Maasto Hihto Trail. The Luminaria Ski is a family event, with one and two-mile courses set up. Snowshoers and snow bikers are also welcome. Meet at the Chalet at the Fairgrounds beginning at 6:00, and return there for light refreshments afterward.
Our high school hockey coverage continues tomorrow, with the opening games of the MacInnes Holiday Tournament. Houghton faces Howell at 6:00, and Hancock takes on Calumet at 8:00. Our pregame broadcast will begin at 5:40 on KBear 102.3 and KBear102.com. We will air the consolation and championship matches on Thursday. Please remember to support the tournament’s winter clothing drive by bringing new or gently used winter wear to the games at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena.
