MLB
Eric Thames will take over at first base for the Milwaukee Brewers. A day after news broke that the Crew would not risk arbitration with Chris Carter, they signed a three-year deal that could stretch into four, worth 16 to 24-million dollars with a 30-year-old player who hasn’t seen a major league pitch in nearly five years. Thames has played the last three years in Korea, where he averaged 37 home runs per season, and also won their equivalent of a Gold Glove Award. Korean professional baseball is generally regarded as equal to American Triple-A level.

Our high school hockey coverage continues Saturday, when Hancock entertains Traverse City Central. The pregame show will start around 12:40 on KBear 102.3 and KBear102.com
