Longtime Calumet High School hockey coach Jim Crawford will retire at the conclusion of the upcoming hockey season.
Crawford became the varsity head coach in 1984. Since then, he’s achieved a record of 522 wins, 251 losses and 21 ties. He’s led the Copper Kings to 15 regional championships, and six state titles. Crawford is a member of the Michigan High School Hockey Coaches’ Association Hall of Fame.
CLK Athletic Director Sean Jacques says the district plans to name Crawford’s replacement before the season begins this fall, to ensure a smooth transition when Crawford steps down in March.
