MacAulay Petersen of the Michigan Tech volleyball team has been named the GLIAC North Division Player of the Week. Peterson had 26 kills as the Huskies split their games against Grand Valley State and Wayne State.

MLB
The baseball postseason opens tonight, as the New York Yankees host the Minnesota Twins in the American League Wild Card play-in game.

NFL
In last night’s NFL game, Kansas City scored a dramatic 29-20 victory over Washington. The score was tied at 20-20 with eight seconds remaining. Rookie Harrison Butker kicked a 43-yard field goal to put Kansas City up by three. Then, after the kickoff, Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston picked up a fumble with three seconds remaining, and ran it in for a touchdown.

Former Northern Michigan University goaltender Jared Coreau cleared waivers yesterday, and has been assigned by the Detroit Red Wings to the Grand Rapids Griffins. The Red Wings open the regular season at their new downtown Detroit arena Thursday against the Minnesota Wild. Hear the game on 99.3 The Lift.
