Calumet’s Loukus, Giachino Lead GLHC All-Stars

Calumet’s Brent Loukus has been named the Great Lakes Hockey Conference Player of the Year. Loukus, who set an all-time Copper Kings career point record, helped lead Calumet to a perfect 10-0 conference record.

Local skaters named to the first team include Sam Erkkila and Tanner Rowe from Calumet; Kevin Bostwick, Justin Norkol and Jimmy Pietila from Houghton; and Hancock’s Austin Salani.

Local players on the second team include Cam Kauppinen from Calumet; and Brendan Erickson and P.J. Donnelly from Houghton.

Honorable mention votes went to Dean Loukus, Josh VanDenBurg and Alex Studebaker of Calumet; Ty Halonen of Houghton; and Bradley Randell of Hancock.

Calumet’s Dan Giachino was named Coach of the Year.
