Michael Fulmer had a rough outing, as the Detroit Tigers lost to the Kansas City Royals 9-2 yesterday. Fulmer gave up two runs in the second inning, two in the third, and three more before leaving in the fourth inning. Meanwhile, the Tigers collected just three hits. Mikie Mahtook singled home a run in the first, and hit a solo home run in the ninth.

The Milwaukee Brewers outslugged the Cincinnati Reds 13-12 in 10 wild innings last night. The see-saw battle wound up tied at 11 after the eighth inning. After a scoreless ninth, the Brewers plated two in the top of the 10th on a Jesús Aguilar homer and an RBI single by Erik Kratz. Brandon Dixon led off the bottom of the 10th with a home run for the Reds, but Jeremy Jeffress retired the next three batters to earn the win. Jonathan Schoop, Mike Moustakas and Christian Yelich also homered for the Crew.

Both the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers wrap up their preseason schedules tonight. The Lions host the Cleveland Browns. The Packers visit the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Packers settled their quarterback situation yesterday. First, they traded backup Brett Hundley to the Seattle Seahawks for a pick in next year’s draft. That means former Cleveland Brown DeShone Kizer will back up Aaron Rodgers. Then, they announced that Rodgers had signed a four-year contract extension that will keep him with the club through the 2023 season. It’s worth a whopping 134-million dollars, and could reach 180-million if certain incentives are reached.

The Finlandia University football team entertains Concordia-Wisconsin Saturday. Our coverage will begin at 12:40 on 99.3 The Lift, 993The Lift.com, and the free Lift Apple and Android apps.
