Calumet Dominates WestPAC Volleyball All-Stars

Calumet swept all three major awards, as the Western Peninsula Athletic Conference All-Star Volleyball Team was announced this afternoon. Hailey Wickstrom was named Player of the Year. Amber Johnson received Defensive Player of the Year honors. Lisa Twardzik was named Coach of the Year. Calumet and Houghton finished in a first-place tie in the season standings.

The first team includes Lea Bjorn and Anna Johnson from Calumet; Kaisa Holmstrom and Bella Nutini from Hancock; and Tawna Ryynanen and Sloane Zenner from Houghton.

Members of the second team include Madelyn Ball, Aili Paavola and Mackenzie Wuori from Hancock; Megan Bugni and Cara Monette from Houghton; and Emily Erkkila and Kelsey Tikkanen from Calumet.

Honorable mention votes went to Niina Anderson from Calumet; Harlee Froberg and Kendra Monette from Houghton; Maegan Kraft fro L’Anse; and Katilee Rhino and Rachael Tefft from West Iron County.
