In hockey last night…
• Houghton stopped Kingsford 6-1.
• Calumet outscored Jeffers 7-1. Jackson Rilei had two goals and an assist. Noah Jukuri had a goal and two assists. Seth Coppo, Nolan Sturos, Paul Sturos and Ayden Williams each netted one for the Copper Kings, and Dean Loukus had six assists. Kyler Hillstrom scored for the Jets. Jack Helminen got the win in net, as Calumet outshot Jeffers 59-16. With the win, the Copper Kings clinch the Great Lakes Conference title.
In girls basketball last night…
• Baraga overpowered Lake Linden-Hubbell 82-24. Rylie Koskinen scored 19 points, and Jaylene Lindeman chipped in 15, as five Vikings reached double figures. Taylor Clements had nine for the Lakes.
• L’Anse stopped Wakefield-Marenisco 64-43. Maija Rice scored 24 for the Purple Hornets.
• Calumet smothered Jeffers 86-16. Elli Djerf and Alexis Strom each scored 19 for the Copper Kings, and Marybeth Halonen added 18. Myra Pennala scored 10 points for the Jets.
• Chassell defeated Republic-Michigamme 56-36.
• Ontonagon edged Ironwood 38-34.
In boys play last night…
• Houghton fell to Marquette 54-29.
• Hancock lost to West Iron County 57-40.
• Jeffers routed Calumet 68-23. Levi Frahm led the Jets with 17 points. Johnny Schutz added 13, and Christian Hocking had 12. Nathan Spence led the Copper Kings with nine points.
• Lake Linden-Hubbell downed Baraga 72-54. William Lyons scored 21 for the Lakes.
• Chassell defeated Republic-Michigamme 79-50. Karl Rautiola scored 28 for the Panthers.
• Ontonagon fell to Ironwood 57-36.

The Detroit Red Wings lost 4-3 in overtime to the Tampa Bay Lightning last night. Adam Erne, Patrik Nemeth and Dylan Larkin scored for Detroit. Thomas Greiss stopped 25 shots, and took the loss.
The Wings host the Lightning again tomorrow night. Coverage begins at 7:15 on 99.3 The Lift.

Following the all-star break, the Detroit Pistons resume their schedule tomorrow, when they visit the Charlotte Hornets.
MLB
The Detroit Tigers scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, and edged the New York Yankees 6-5 in Grapefruit League play yesterday. Willi Castro hit his third home run of the spring. Jeimer Candelario had two hits. Spencer Turnbull gave up a run over three innings.
The Tigers play the Philadelphia Phillies this afternoon. Matthew Boyd will start.
In Cactus League action, the Milwaukee Brewers outslugged the San Francisco Giants 13-7 yesterday. Starter Adrian Houser struggled, giving up two runs before leaving in the second inning.
The Brewers will face the Oakland Athletics this afternoon. Brett Anderson will start.
