The Milwaukee Brewers edged the Houston Astros 3-2 yesterday. Aaron Hill singled in two runs in the first inning to give Jimmy Nelson an early lead. Nelson pitched into the seventh inning. He gave up two solo home runs, and struck out nine. The Brewers play at St. Louis in the Cardinals’ home opener this afternoon. Taylor Jungmann will pitch against Michael Wacha.
NBA
The Detroit Pistons host the Miami Heat in the next-to-last game of their regular season tomorrow night. Detroit has clinched a playoff berth, but continues to fight for position. The Pistons are tied with the Pacers for the seventh and eighth positions in the Eastern Conference. Tip-off is at 7:30 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.
NHL
The Detroit Red Wings will open the NHL playoffs Wednesday at Tampa Bay against the Lightning. Game two will be played at Tampa Friday night. Games three and four will be played in Detroit Sunday and next Tuesday. Follow the Wings through the playoffs on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

The Michigan Tech men’s tennis team lost 8-1 at Grand Valley Saturday morning, and 9-0 at Ferris State yesterday morning.

The local high school softball season is scheduled to open today.
