The Finlandia University men’s soccer team will host Northland College this evening at 7:00 at McAfee Field.

The Michigan Tech volleyball team opens play at the Huskies Classic in Saint Cloud, Minnesota against Minnesota-Duluth tonight.

MLB

The Detroit Tigers’ game against the New York Yankees last night was rained out. The game will be made up as part of a standard doubleheader this afternoon. Matthew Boyd will face J.A. Happ in the first game, with Spencer Turnbull starting against C.C. Sabathia in the nightcap. Pregame coverage begins at 12:45 on 99.3 The Lift. Because of tonight’s NFL contest, the second game will be broadcast on KBear 102.3. 

Mike Moustakas’ two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning lifted the Milwaukee Brewers to a 7-5 victory over the Miami Marlins last night. Moustakas’ second home run of the game extended the Crew’s win streak to six games, and moved them into a tie with the Chicago Cubs for the second National League Wild Card playoff berth. Chicago and Saint Louis both lost last night, leaving the Cubs and Brewers both four games behind the Cardinals in the Central Division. Trent Grisham also homered.

The Brewers visit the Marlins again this afternoon. Gio Gonzalez will start against Caleb Smith.

NFL

In tonight’s NFL game, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers visit the Carolina Panthers. Hear the broadcast on 99.3 The Lift.
