Brewers Fall to Dodgers – Tuesday Sports Wrap

MLB

The Tigers had yesterday off, and host the Mariners tonight. Tarik Skubal will start for Detroit. Seattle has not named a starter. Coverage will begin at 6:15 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Brewers fell to the Dodgers 5-2 last night. Freddy Peralta took the loss, allowing four runs over six innings. Milwaukee’s runs came on a homer by William Contreras.

The Brewers host the Dodgers again tonight. Colin Rea will pitch against Gavin Stone.

Milwaukee outfielder Blake Perkins has landed on the injured list, after straining his calf during Sunday’s loss. Tyler Black has been called back from Nashville. Reliever Bryan Hudson was brought back from the injured list. After starting Sunday’s game, D.L. Hall was optioned to the Sounds.

Twilight League

The Copper Country Twilight Baseball League tournament begins tonight, with a play-in game between Craig Heinonen Coldwell Banker and Houghton Building Supply-Stanton at 6:30 at the Stanton field.

The semifinal and championship games will be played at the Stanton field Sunday, with the title match broadcast on KBear 102.3.

NFL

Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs left practice yesterday with an apparent hamstring injury. He’ll be evaluated today.

Horseshoes

The Copper Country Horseshoe League tournament last night…

  • Harter’s Party Store blanked Calumet Electronics 9-0.
  • Calumet One shaded Dreamland One 5-4.
  • Luigi’s Bar downed Bucko’s Party Store 6-3.
  • Houghton Building Supply edged Eva’s Hideaway 5-4. 

The season will conclude this coming Monday.

  • Calumet One will face Harter’s Party store at the Maple Leaf for the championship.
  • Calumet Electronics will take on Dreamland One at the Dreamland for third place.
  • Luigi’s Bar will play Houghton Building Supply at Agassiz Park for fifth place.
  • Bucko’s Party Store will face Eva’s Hideaway at Eva’s Hideaway for seventh place.

In the consolation tourney involving the final four seeds…

  • Mohawk Superette downed Maple Leaf 6-3 to clinch ninth place.
  • Ahmeek Fire Department defeated L and L 6-3 to earn 11th place.

Golf

The Baraga Next Gen Group will host a Glow Golf outing at the L’Anse Golf Club Saturday. Four-person teams will begin play a half hour after sunset in a nine-hole scramble, The cost is $200 per team. The evening will include good food, and prizes for best golfers, along with the best-dressed team, and the best-decorated cart. There will be plenty of fun things for non-golfers to do, as well.
