At the Upper Peninsula track and field championships Saturday…
• Dollar Bay-Tamarack City won the Division Three boys title. Ewen-Trout Creek finished fourth, with Chassell tied for 10th, Lake Linden-Hubbell 12th, and Ontonagon 20th. The Blue Bolts got individual wins from Johnny Norland in the 400 and 800-meter runs, Connor LeClaire in the 300-meter hurdles, and in the 4×400 and 4×800 relays. Chassell’s Kolson Kytta won the 1600 and 3200-meter runs. Lake Linden-Hubbell claimed a victory in the 4×200 relay. See full results here.
• Ontonagon took the crown at the Division Three girls meet. Lake Linden-Hubbell placed sixth, with Baraga ninth, Chassell 10th, Ewen-Trout Creek 12th, and Dollar Bay-Tamarack City 21st. For the Gladiators, Makennah Uotila won the long jump, Lilly McIntyre won the 100-meter dash, and the 4×200 and 4×400 relay teams finished first. Chassell’s Gwen Kangas took the 3200-meter run, and the Panthers won the 4×800 relay. Abi Codere from Lake Linden-Hubbell claimed the 100-meter hurdles, and the Lakes won the 4×100 relay. • Ishpeming won the Division Two boys meet, with L’Anse seventh, Hancock 10th, and Jeffers 12th. For the Purple Hornets, Nathan Hochstein won the high jump and the long jump. Eli Ostermeyer took the discus throw. See full results here.
• West Iron County claimed the Division Two girls title. L’Anse was ninth, Hancock 10th, and Jeffers 11th. Kyra Sipe of the Purple Hornets finished second in the 800-meter run, and third in the 400. See full results here.
• Marquette dominated the Division One boys meet, with Houghton fourth and Calumet seventh. Calumet’s Dryden Nelson won the 100-meter dash and the long jump. The Gremlins got second place finishes from Donovan Dueweke in the 400-meter dash, Cade Holombo in the 200-meter dash, and Eric Weiss in the 3200-meter run. See full results here.

In NHL tournament second-round play yesterday…
• The Lightning outscored the Hurricanes 6-4. Tampa Bay leads that series 3-1.
• The Islanders outscored the Bruins 4-1. That set is tied 2-2.
Tonight…
• The Canadiens host the Jets. Montreal leads that series 2-0.
• The Golden Knights entertain the Avalanche. Colorado has a 2-1 lead in that series.
MLB
Eric Haase hit two home runs, as the Detroit Tigers edged the Chicago White Sox 4-3 yesterday. Miguel Cabrera also hit one out. Tarik Skubal gave up a run on four hits over five innings, and struck out 11. José Cisnero earned his first save of the season.
The Tigers conclude that series in Chicago this afternoon. José Ureña returns from the injured list to start against Dylan Cease. Coverage begins at 1:50 on 99.3 The Lift.
Detroit has placed starter Spencer Turnbull on the injured list. He left Friday’s game after four innings because of right forearm tightness. Evaluation of the injury continues. Bryan Garcia has been called back up from Toledo to fill in. The Tigers also sent infielder Zack Short back to Toledo, to make room for Ureña.
Christian Yelich and Omar Narváez’ solo home runs in the eighth inning gave the Milwaukee Brewers a 7-5 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks yesterday. Willy Adames also homered for the Crew. Brandon Woodruff struck out nine over five innings, giving up two runs on six hits. Devin Williams got the win in relief, and Josh Hader claimed his 14th save.
The Brewers host the Diamondbacks again today. Corbin Burnes will pitch against Caleb Smith.
