MLB
The Detroit Tigers collected just four hits in a 3-0 loss to the Texas Rangers yesterday. The power outage wasted a quality start by Michael Fulmer, who gave up three runs over the first two innings, then settled in and pitched through the seventh.

The Tigers open a series at Tampa Bay tonight. Francisco Liriano will pitch against Chris Archer. Pregame coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

After the game, the Tigers brought pitcher Drew VerHagen back from the disabled list, and sent pitcher Artie Lewicki down to Toledo. The team also announced that infielder Dixon Machado has cleared waivers, and is also being assigned to the Mud Hens.

Jesús Aguilar blasted two home runs, as the Milwaukee Brewers pounded the Atlanta Braves 10-3 yesterday. Hernán Pérez and Eric Thames also homered for the Crew. Junior Guerra gave up a run over six innings to get the win.

The Brewers begin a set at Miami tonight. Chase Anderson will start against José Ureña.

Milwaukee made a number of personnel moves yesterday. Outfielder Lorenzo Cain was activated from the disabled list. Ryan Braun was sent to the DL with a back strain. Catcher Manny Piña was placed on the DL with a left biceps strain. Pitcher Aaron Wilkerson was sent down to Colorado Springs, and pitcher Mike Zagurski was designated for assignment. Catcher Jacob Nottingham, infielder Nate Orf and top pitching prospect Corbin Burnes were brought up from Colorado Springs.

The Major League All-Star Team rosters were announced yesterday. Neither the Tigers nor the Brewers earned a starter. On the American League squad, the Tigers will be represented by young reliever Joe Jiménez, who is enjoying a breakout season, and has recently been closing games in place of the injured Shane Greene. Nicholas Castellanos was not selected. Former Tiger Justin Verlander also made the squad, although he will not pitch because he’s starting for the Astros against the Tigers on Sunday. On the National League squad, the Brewers will be represented by outfielders Lorenzo Cain and Christian Yelich, and reliever Josh Hader. First baseman Jesús Aguilar is one of five players eligible in the Final Vote competition. Former Tiger Max Scherzer made the N-L team from the Nationals.
