The Finlandia baseball team lost 13-0 to Wisconsin-La Crosse in their Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener yesterday. The Lions managed just two hits, and struck out 17 times. Finlandia will play three more at La Crosse this afternoon.
NHL
The Pittsburgh Penguins buried the Detroit Red Wings 11-2 yesterday. Alex Nedeljkovic started. With Thomas Greiss injured, Calvin Pickard replaced Nedeljkovic after the Pens scored four goals on their first 12 shots. Pickard gave up four goals before he was hurt early in the third period, and Nedeljkovic returned to finish the game.

The Detroit Pistons lost a tight 104-102 decision to the New York Knicks yesterday afternoon. Marvin Bagley III led Detroit with 27 points.

MLB
The Detroit Tigers fell 5-4 to the Baltimore Orioles yesterday. Tyler Alexander pitched into the third inning, and gave up a run on one hit. Eric Haase and Harold Castro continued their hot springs, with two hits each.
