• In Division Four, District 98…
– L’Anse advanced with a 63-47 victory over Baraga.
– Lake Linden-Hubbell dispatched Dollar Bay-Tamarack City 72-41. Danny Marcotte led the Lakes with 18 points, and Marcus Sutherland added 15. A.J. Datto had 13 for the Blue Bolts.
– The Purple Hornets will host the Lakes in the district title game tomorrow at 6:00.
• In Division Four, District 97…
– Ewen-Trout Creek shut down Watersmeet 90-35. Wakefield-Marenisco got past Ironwood 55-50. The Cardinals will host the Panthers for the district crown tomorrow at 7:00 Eastern Time.
• In Division Three…
– Calumet’s season ended with a 59-30 loss at Westwood. Westwood’s Zach Carlson led all scorers with 21 points. Dryden Nelson scored 11 for the Copper Kings.
– Jeffers dispatched Ishpeming 66-41. Levi Frahm scored 19 for the Jets, and Johnny Schutz added 18. Jayce Kipling had 18 for the Hematites.
– The Jets and Patriots will meet for the district title tomorrow night at 6:00 at Westwood.
Girls regional championship games will be played tonight…
• In Division Four, Baraga faces Carney Nadeau at 7:00 Eastern Time at Kingsford. Both the Vikings and Wolves have only one loss this season.
• In Division Three, Calumet will play unbeaten Glen Lake at 7:00. The game has been moved from Saint Ignace to Engadine. Coverage will begin at 6:40 on the Voice of the Copper Kings, KBear 102.3.
The Calumet High School hockey team will face Midland Dow tomorrow at 1:30 in the state semifinals at Plymouth. The billionaires who own major league baseball teams and the millionaires who play for them failed again yesterday to work out a new labor agreement. Commissioner Rob Manfred responded by canceling another week’s worth of regular-season games. That pushes Opening Day back to no earlier than April 14th.
