The Northern Michigan University hockey team begins its regular season tonight and tomorrow night with games against Wisconsin at the Resch Center in Green Bay.

The Finlandia University volleyball team will host Concordia-Ann Arbor tonight at 8:00 at the Paavo Nurmi Center. The Lions head to Ashland tomorrow, where they’ll face the University of Northwestern and Northland College.
The Finlandia football team plays at Trinity Bible College tomorrow.
The Finlandia men’s soccer team plays at the Moody Bible Institute tomorrow morning, and Robert Morris University-Springfield on Sunday. The women’s soccer team hosts Cleary University tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 at McAfee Field.

In the opening games of the American League Divisional Series yesterday, the Toronto Blue Jays pounded the Texas Rangers 10-1, and the Cleveland Indians got past the Boston Red Sox 5-4. Each of those series continues this afternoon. The National League Divisional Series open this evening. The Dodgers play at Washington, and the Giants play at Chicago.

The Detroit Pistons opened their NBA preseason schedule with a 101-94 loss to the Brooklyn Nets. Marcus Morris led Detroit with 17 points, and Andre Drummond grabbed 21 rebounds. The Pistons will entertain the Spurs on Monday. Hear selected Pistons regular-season games on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.
