Vivian G. Allert

Vivian G. Allert, age 85, of L’Anse, passed way Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Bayside Village, L’Anse. She was born in L’Anse on October 3, 1931, the daughter of the late Oscar and Irene (Johnson) Almli and Harold Pettersen. Vivian graduated from L’Anse High School in 1949. She married Arthur “Art” Allert in Chicago on April 29, 1950. She was a member of United Lutheran Church, L’Anse, and had been a member of the L’Anse VFW Auxiliary, L’Anse Golf Club and the L’Anse Women’s’ Bowling League. Vivian enjoyed playing cards, visiting and having coffee with friends and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Allert is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Art of L’Anse, children Kurt (LeRita) Allert of L’Anse, Gayle (Bill) Voskuhl, Kathy (John) Falk and Joanne (Roy) Kemppainen all of L’Anse, grandchildren Will (Marie) Voskuhl, Tricia Voskuhl, Derek (Megan) Falk, Kara (Brad) LeClaire, Darrin (Heidi) Voskuhl, Scott (Hannah) Kemppainen and Brittney Kemppainen, great grandchildren Sydney and Ryan Voskuhl, Kailyn and Kwynn Voskuhl, Ella and Brady Falk and Vale LeClaire, sisters Shirley (Dick) Gustafson and Rosie (Don) Funke both of L’Anse. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, her mother Irene and her father’s Oscar and Harold.

A memorial funeral service for Mrs. Allert will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, July 17, 2017 at United Lutheran Church, L’Anse with Pastor John Ansell officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. A luncheon will be held in the church hall immediately following the service.

Interment will take place in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Mrs. Allert’s honor be directed to the United Lutheran Church, L’Anse. Envelopes will be available at the church.
