Robert “Bob” Matthew Turunen, age 59 of Pelkie, MI passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017 at his home.
He was born August 29, 2017 in Traverse City, MI son of Ralph and Nancy (Mattson) Turunen. In 1970 the Turunen’s moved to Arnheim. Bob graduated from Baraga High School in 1976. He worked at Celotex for a short while and then as a Sawyer at Connor’s Saw Mill. For the past 30 years he drove skidder, working for various loggers.
Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. He was a diehard Packer fan.
Surviving are his brothers, James (Lenore “Sue”) Turunen of Skanee, John (Sue) Turunen of L’Anse; nieces and nephews, Dan, Beth, Matt (Koni), Jeremy, Christopher; grand nieces and nephews, Makayla, Jaxtin, Gracie; and numerous cousins.
Preceding him in death are his parents and a nephew Bradley Turunen.
Private graveside services will be held in the Pelkie Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
