Wivell T. Menge, age 81, passed away on February 10, 2022. He was born on August 12, 1940 in Hancock to Gage Menge and Jane Wivell Menge. He lived in Hancock until 1942 when his family moved to Detroit, where he was a resident until 1968. In 1968 he moved to Madison Heights where he currently resided. Wivell was a graduate of Detroit Public Schools and received his bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University in 1963. He taught social studies at Sherrard Middle School in Detroit from 1963 until his retirement in 1991. He enjoyed sports, current events and photography and especially liked to travel to America’s natural wonders and historic sites.
Predeceased by his parents, Gage and Jane, as well as his aunts, May Hull, Grace Aumock and Hazel Menge. Wivell is survived by many cousins and their families.
Burial will be Friday, May 20th at 1 p.m. at L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery, L’Anse with Rev. John Henry officiating.
