William “Billy” Seppala, 81, of Lake Linden, passed away at Portage Pointe in Hancock on August 21, 2024.
He was born on December 4, 1942, a son of Arthur and Mayme Seppala. He graduated from Hancock Central High School.
He worked for Coca-Cola in Hancock and then as a Lineman for UPPCO until his retirement in 2005.
He was an active member of the Calumet Golf Club. He was a member of the Valley Sno Drifters and the IBEW.
Bill had a dry sense of humor and loved “dad jokes.” He liked to watch Seinfeld and the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed golf and leisurely rides to Bootjack. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed breakfast at Candies with Maggie, hearing of Ross’s adventures on his Harley, and watching Dean and Matt battle for the Jazzy. As a true Finn, he enjoyed his saunas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters-Janet and Shirley, son-Ross, and grandson-Sean.
He is survived by: 3 children-Dean (Julie) Seppala of Lake Linden, Maggie (Dan) Puska of Hubbell, and Matt Seppala of Jacksonville, FL; 5 grandchildren-Holly (Chris) Ahnen, Eric Seppala, Erin Seppala (Matt Therrian); and Jaxon and Lennon Puska; 3 great-grandchildren-Abraham, Alexander, and Arthur Ahnen; 2 brothers-Hal (Kay) and Dave (Mary Jo); former spouses-Darlene Hughes and Debbie Maki; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of Portage Pointe and Dr. McConnon for the care that Bill received.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, August 26, 2024 with a Prayer Service to follow at 1:00 at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with Rev. Jared Howard to officiate.
