Obituary: William Howard Paquet

William Howard Paquet, age 73, of L’Anse, Michigan passed away on Thursday, April 25th, 2024 at Bayside Village in L’Anse.

He was born July 29, 1950 in Hancock, MI son of Mylo and Elsie (Ellis) Paquet. Bill graduated from L’Anse High School in 1968. He worked at the Tilden Mine and retired from there after working for 30 years. He owned and operated Bill Paquet Construction for 40 plus years.

Bill enjoyed working, either on vehicles or as a handy man, always fixing something. He liked to be on the go.

Surviving are his daughter Shelly (Quincy) Jeter of South Range, MI; brother Oliver (significant other Gina Labeau) Paquet and of L’Anse; significant other of 13 years, Shirley Bennett and her children, Gerald (Stacy) Bennett, Becky (Danny) Taylor, Tracy (Ramon) Maki Garcia; grandchildren, Jacob (Kayla) Rastello, Brandon Rastello, Wesley (Emma) Jeter-Hughes, Kaylee Jeter, Quincy (Taylor) Jeter Jr.; great grandchildren, Parker and Avery; and his grand dog Blue.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Mylo and Elsie; and brother David Paquet.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2nd from 12-1:00 p.m. at the Jacobson Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Covington Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. with military honors under the direction of the American Legion Post 444. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
