Obituary: Wesley Kangas

Wesley J. Kangas, 79, a resident of Fulton passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital.

He was born on September 22, 1942 in Mohawk to Eli and Aurora (Waara) Kangas.

He was united in marriage to Cheryl D. Anderson on October 23, 1965 in Fulton.

He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era.

Wes was employed at Michigan Tech for 30+ years, retiring in the early 1990’s.

They lived their married years in Calumet and retired in Fulton.

Wes was a member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Calumet.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, and in-laws Edwin and Ruth Anderson, Infant daughter Darlene, brothers Eli, Vernon and 2 infant brothers, sisters-in-law Rene Anderson and Trudy Anderson.

He is survived by his wife Cheryl

Funeral services will be held on December 15, 2021 at 1:00 pm in the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Calumet with Pastor David Taivalkoski to officiate.

There will be no public Visitation.

The Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
