Virginia Mae Anderson, age 69, of Zeba, MI, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022. She was born in Hancock, MI, January 3, 1953, the daughter of the late Kenneth Howard and Violet R. (Marksman) Friisvall.
Virginia graduated from the L’Anse area schools. She was married to John “Tinker” Anderson and remained good friends after their divorce. She was a member of the Zeba Indian United Methodist Church and the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community. Virginia enjoyed listening to music throughout her life especially Toby Keith, going for rides from South Range to the Mouth of the Huron, watching hockey and other favorite TV shows, reading, going to rummage sales, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.
Virginia is survived by her loving children, Lee Anderson (Carolyn Ripley) of Negaunee, Venus Anderson of Baraga; grandchildren, Robert Ripley, Victoria Ripley, Pamela Smith and Velicity Smith, and great-grandchild, Dexter Ripley; sisters, Verna Comfort of Janesville, WI, and Violet (Jason) Ayres of Zeba; brothers, Dale (Diana) Friisvall and Arlan (Tonia) Friisvall, both of Zeba; and sister-in-law, Angela Friisvall of Zeba. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Charles and Susie (White) Marksman; brothers, Theodore “Manny” Friisvall, Gerald Friisvall, and Daryl Friisvall.
Funeral services for Virginia will be at held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the Zeba Hall, Zeba, MI, with Pastor Mark Miller officiating. The family will greet friends at the Zeba Hall on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service. Immediately following the memorial service, interment will take place at the Pinery Cemetery followed by a feast at the Hall. Those wishing to attend the interment are welcome or can wait at the Hall for the family to return for the luncheon.
