Violet Elizabeth Theriault, age 89 of L’Anse, MI passed away on February 8, 2018 at UP Health System-Marquette.
She was born December 26, 1928 in Houghton, MI daughter of Frank and Hilja (Piippo) Tervonen. Violet graduated from Houghton High School in 1946. She married James Theriault in Houghton on October 9, 1948 and he preceded her in death on December 2, 2013 after 65 years of marriage. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
Surviving are her son, Charles (Gina) Theriault of Gaylord, MI; daughter Nancy (Larry) Oger of Alston, MI; grandchildren, Brian (Amber) Theriault, Julie (Sean) Timperley, Amy (Keith) Howe, Tim (Becky) Oger, Rick (Cassie) Oger, David (Michelle) Oger, Jamie (Maryanne Bradley) Oger, Diane (Chris) Rexford, Katie (Matt) Sterbenz; 30 great grandchildren; sisters, Viola Hedin of Huron Town, MI, Joan (Bob) Willis of Owasso, MI and Janet (Harold) Mortenson of Apple Valley, MN; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Francis Tervonen.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 1 to 2:30 pm at the Jacobson Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 3 pm on Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Corey Litzner officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery.
