Obituary: V. Kay Masters

UPDATE: Graveside services and burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. in Section 16 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton on Monday, May 22, 2023 with Rev. Father Jubish Joseph of the Church of the Resurrection to officiate.

V. Kay Masters, 85, a longtime resident of Hancock, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at the Omega House in Houghton.

She was born in Hancock on August 10, 1937 to the late Mort and Verna (Kettenbeil) McCarthy. She was employed by several local businesses, eventually retiring from Michigan Tech University.

Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Roger Masters, a brother, Michael McCarthy, and a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia (Donald) Koski.

She is survived by a brother, Robert McCarthy , and a sister, Marlene (George) Bodi, and by several nieces and nephews.

At the request of the deceased viewing will be private and there will be no visitation. Private graveside services and burial will be held in the spring at Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton.
