Todd Perttola, age 58, a resident of Traprock Valley, Michigan passed away on Friday, September 1st 2023 at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital located in Laurium, Michigan.
Todd was born on November 14th, 1964 in Livonia, MI to parents Ewald and Lorraine Perttola. He attended Redford Union Schools and upon graduation he went to Lawrence Technological University where he earned his mechanical engineering degree in 1986. He worked in the automotive engineering for 34 years until he retired from Borg Warner in 2020.
He met the love of his life Karen (Turovaara) and they were married on June 14, 1986. They have continued their love for each other and have kept their faith through the forgiveness of sins until the beautiful day they will meet again in heaven above.
Todd loved his family and although he had no children of his own his “kids” were all of his nieces and nephews. He loved to help and mentor them through life and all their projects.
Todd is preceded in death by his parents Ewald and Lorraine Perttola, step mother Bea Perttola, brother Alan Perttola, nephew Bob Perttola, and step brother-in-law David Lock.
Todd is survived by his loving wife Karen Perttola. In laws, Melvin and Margaret Turovaara, Jim (Cheryl) Turovaara, JoAnne (Paul) Hyrkas, Margaret, (Rob) McColl. His “kids” Elizabeth, John, Lanette, Jim, Rob, Tom, Sarah, Karen, Matt, Brian, Nina, Eric and Aaron. Diane Perttola (Gage), Lynne. Richard and Beverly Wright, Brandon, Barb Lock, Bethany and Emily. And many numerous Christian family and friends.
A Funeral service for Todd will be held on Tuesday September 5, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the First Apostolic Church of Calumet. Public visitation will be held Tuesday September 5, 2023, form 11:00 am-1:00 pm at the First Apostolic Church of Calumet. Burial will follow the funeral service in the Lake View Cemetery.
