Obituary: Thomas J. Miron

Houghton MI – Thomas J. Miron, 58, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, Minnnesota due to complications of surgery.

He was born on July 3, 1961 in Iron Mountain, MI to Daniel J. and Rose Marie (Giachino) Miron.

Tom graduated from Peshtigo High School and DeVry Institute of Technology. He was employed by Bob Hipke Construction when living in Peshtigo, WI. He started working at UPS in 1982 until his retirement in 2016. Upon retirement and moving to Michigan he enjoyed working for Superior Block and Houghton Transit.

Tom married the love of his life, Suzanne (Pearce) on May 29, 1982 and started their life together in Illinois where they raised two wonderful children.

He is preceded in death his brother, Stephen Miron; uncle, Joseph (Kathy) Giachino; grandparents, James and Edna Giachino, George and Leona Miron; and aunt, Roseanne (Lee) Legatske.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Suzanne (Pearce) Miron; daughter, Jessica (William) Schuett; son, James Miron; his parents; brothers, David (Julie) Miron, Douglas Miron; sisters, Julianne (Boyd) Janny, Dianne (Nick) Marquardt; grandsons, Jonathan, Bradley and Daniel; sister-in-laws, Patti (Carlos) Cardoso, Barbara (Rick) Walters, Mary Pearce, Cathy (Tom) Joy, Sally (Bryan) Carlson, Jodi (Jerry) Rhode; Aunts, Madylyn (Dave) Sleeman, Maxine (Jerry) O’Connell, and Marge Giachino; and beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in Houghton with Reverend Father John Martignon to officiate. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9 A.M. until 11:45 A.M. before the mass.
